Lazy snow day...

Unfortunately we are getting another snow storm today which means we are stuck indoors. Dylan and I decided we are going to have a lazy day today. We are going to lounge around in pjs, play games, watch DVDs and eat lots of popcorn. I think if Brynn could talk she would agree. So far we have watched 3 DVDs and put together 3 puzzles. I think after a quick nap both kids are going to be ready for house forts-----Maybe we'll even attempt going outside if the snow slows down. Days like this make you wish you were on a beach somewhere. This pic reminds me of my honeymoon in Bermuda, they have fantastic PINK beaches

Cruising Brynnie...

Yesterday afternoon I was on my laptop and Brynn was playing so nicely by herself. I was able to get a clip of her cruising along the furniture. I've been trying for over a week to get a clip of her doing this but as soon as she sees my cellphone she wants to play with it. Sorry that you can only see the back of her but you can get the gist of it. She's going to be walking here shortly. I'm dreading that day...

Grocery shopping...

I take my kids grocery shopping with me which is quite a task now that Dylan likes to walk around and throw things into the cart. Shoprite is the best place to go shopping because they have family-friendly carts. I can put both kids in the seats and use the harness seatbelts so both kids are secure in the cart and I can actually have room to put groceries. Here's a pic from my cellphone when I was checking out on Sunday.

My First Valentines Day

Here's a picture of Miss Brynn this morning...check out her wild hair

Happy Bawentimes Day

Happy Bawentimes Day to everyone (as my son says it) to everyone. Dylan told me this morning that he is his daddy's Bawentime and Brynnie is mine. He woke up this morning and couldn't wait to get to daycare to have his Bawentimes party. Brynnie is covered from head to toe in pink with red hearts. Here's some pics...

Sunday School

Today was Dylan's second Sunday School class for the winter session. I must say how much I enjoy doing this with him. He is at such a wonderful age he absorbs almost everything he sees & hears. He has been fortunate the last two weeks to be the only child (other than his sister) in his class so he gets one on one attention from the teacher. I was impressed that he remembered last week's lesson & after the teacher read him today's story, he repeated it back to her. The teacher knows how much Dylan loves Thomas the Train she brought special "Thomas" paper for him to make a Valentine at the end of class. What a fantastic experience for both of us.

Seven things I love...

Inspired by BP and BB's mommy here are 7 things I love (in no particular order).

1. Seeing my sleepy-eyed children every morning.
2. Coffee....lots and lots of coffee. I know after a rough night with my daughter I can always count on a good cup of coffee to get me through the day.
3. Marriage...Being happily married to my high school sweetheart and best friend. It's been over 11 years we have been together and I can't wait to see what the next 50+ years has in store.
4. Music...Music of any kind and dancing around with my little boy. It's one of my favorite things to do with him (i could go without "Catch that Train" 10x a day though...)
5. Pictures. .. It's so nice to be able to open a photo album and look at pictures of places I've been, people I have met and beautiful things I've seen and experienced. Dylan and I have been looking at my wedding album a lot lately along with both kids' scrapbooks.
6. Friends... Nights out to dinner with friends and our kids. We haven't done this in quite some time but when we do get together with other families it's a ton of fun (and the kids even have a good time)
7. Family... Our family is now spread all over the east coast but we all know home is where the heart is and although we are not all together all of the time, we love and miss eachother terribly.
8. (just for good measure)....Books...Dylan could read 100's of books a day and now he really understands what we are reading to him. I love snuggling up in bed with the two kids and reading stories. It's how we end every day.

thanks Alana....

Brynnie is 9 months!

This morning I woke up and realized my sweet baby girl is 9 months old today! I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by. She's crawling all over the place and this week started cruising alongside the couch. Her big brother started walking when he was 9 months old and although I'm not ready for her to start walking, we are preparing ourselves for "Walking Brynnie". She's pretty funny the last couple of days because she's opening drawers, pulling things off of shelves, slamming doors, etc. I guess my baby is growing up and it makes me a little sad. We are planning her first birthday already and before you know it Spring will be here

Day trip to NJ

Yesterday the kids and I took a little road trip with Aunt Danielle to NJ. We went to a mall that had an indoor play area. The kids have pretty much been cooped up all winter long since the weather hasn't been the greatest. Dylan really enjoyed the couple of minutes he had to unwind. I wish our mall had a play area like this one. It was lot of fun and Brynnie even enjoyed crawling around and going down the slide. It was a great day!

Snow buddies

While I was grocery shopping yesterday with my two children strapped into the family friendly shopping cart, Dylan spotted the Disney movie Snow Buddies in a display. Of course I caved in and bought it for him because, quite frankly, I am soooo sick of watching the same Thomas the Train movies over and over again. I was surprised how much Dyl enjoyed this movie since it is not a cartoon and has talking dogs. It's a cute movie for preschoolers. He even brought it to daycare with him today to share it with his friends.

Little Gym

Our first Little Gym class was this morning. I told Dylan last night after the Super Bowl that he would be going there today. Of course he ran into my room this morning and told me he was ready to go to "Wittle Gym". Dyl immediately remembered the building as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. He remembered the routine of hanging your coat up, taking off your shoes and socks and sitting on the large mat to sing the welcome song. It's been a year since we have been there and I haven't seen him that happy or excited in a long, long time. Unfortunatley Brynnie still is too little for the class but I'm okay with waiting for her to get a little bigger so she can make some friends there too. Here are some pics of my very happy little boy---and check out his cubby feet. He made me take a pic of his stamps

January pictures

Here are a couple cute pics of the kids from last month. I cannot believe how big they are both getting. Brynn's features are still changing and I think looks like both me & her daddy but Dylan's resemblence speaks for itself if you know what I mean. Brynn is going to be 9 months old next weekend. Time sure is flying by. Before you know it Dylan's birthday invitations will have to go out.

Thinking pink...

After arguing with myself for about a week I finally decided to bite the bullet and update Brynnie's room a little. I loved the shade of green that it was, but it was starting to look a little tired. Yesterday seemed like the perfect day to get down and dirty and start painting. What a difference & I think she loves having a girly room. I do have to admit that I felt sad after taking down all of the fish stuff, but it is neatly packed away if we decide to add another addition to our family in the future.

cousins

My nephew Ry spent the night last night. Dylan loves it when Ry comes to visit but I caught I very tender moment between Ry & Brynnie. Ryan was sitting in a chair and Brynnie crawled over to him. He picked her up and they sat and read stories together. It was a very sweet moment
