Happy 5 months Em

Sweet Emme is 5 months old today. Where is time going? She rolled over for the first time Monday night. Dylan was so excited he immediately had to call daddy on the phone to tell him about his baby sister's first milestone! She's teething like crazy but once she gives you one of those big gummy smiles, she melts your heart. She is starting to grab at toys and giggles quite a lot. She will pull herself up straight when you put her in the highchair. Where is my baby going? What a true joy...

Hundred Lake

We are very fortunate to have a place to go to in the Summer to hang out near a lake and the kids can swim, dig in the sand, go boating and fishing. Stephen's family "get away" is relatively close to home and now that the kids are older, we are trying to spend as much time there as possible. We actually went up twice this weekend, both Sunday and Monday. We had a picnic and watched the kids enjoy the beautiful weather. Brynn went right into the lake with her Uncle Bryan and after a little coaxing, Dylan was right behind her. The water was incredibly cold, but I've learned that children don't care about freezing cold anything, as long as they are having fun they tend to ignore it. Here are some pics of Dyl and Brynnie. Emily isn't a fan of warm weather or sun, so she pretty much slept in her little bassinet.

P.S--the swimmies the kids are wearing are highly recommended! There's not like arm swimmies, it's made of the same material life vests are and my kids love them. It gives them more confidence when they are in the water, and Dylan actually swims with it.

DC BABY!

I have been involved daily on the internet with a group of women now since I was pregnant with Dylan. These 25+ women are pretty much my support system for everything. It still amazes me that we have been in touch with each other for 5 years now and I found them pretty much accidentally when I was surfing the web for pregnancy advice. We get together every year to have a mom's only weekend. This year was extra special because we were able to get 17 people together! Our hostess was fantastic and all of us stayed right at her house and travelled to Washington DC on Saturday. I have never been to DC but have always wanted to go. I wish I had more time both in DC and with my friends. I cannot wait to go back. I had a fantastic weekend (which was MUCH needed) and a wonderful husband who basically said "go and have a great time". I came home to a semi clean house, 3 very happy kids and felt so de-stressed when I got off of the train in Middletown on Sunday. Here are some of my favorite pics from the weekend. Thanks ladies for the laughs, tears and fun this weekend...until next time

Sand and Water

Shopping for gifts for my kids is always a challenge because honestly they pretty much have everything (yeah I know slightly spoiled)...I picked up a sand and water table for Brynnie for her birthday and it is one of the best things I have ever purchased. This table has an umbrella attached to it so I don't have to worry about the kids playing outside in the sun for too long, and it is quite lightweight so Stephen and I can put it in the garage on rainy days and the kids play with it for hours....I suggest it for any 2-4 year old kiddies who love to play with sand.

Exersaucer

Stephen and I debated whether Emme was big enough for the exesaucer yet. I figured what the heck let's try it....SHE LOVES IT. She looks so tiny sitting in it but she plays with the rattles on it. So cute!

Happy 2nd Birthday Brynn Anna-Louise

I'm a little late getting on the computer to post this but I have to post something special to wish Brynn (our chicken) a happy 2nd birthday. Your personality has not changed since the day you were born. I remember being wheeled past the nursery shortly after you were born and hearing a baby scream. I said to the nurse "that poor mother, listen to that baby". The nurse laughed and said "Mrs. Poley THAT'S YOUR BABY"....You are such a spunky little girl who stands her ground and who pretty much lets everyone know when you are in the room.

You love to dress up with princess dresses, you adore your big brother and baby sister. You are so sweet and loving, when it's on YOUR terms.

You are incredibly bright and shock me every day with things that you do. I am so proud that you are potty trained and initited it when you were only 20 months old.

I love spending one on one time with you because you relish every single minute of attention that you get.

You love books. This surprises me because you would never listen to stories we would read to Dyl when you were a baby. Now you will sit down with a book and "read" it to yourself.
You are a blankie girl. I laugh because we have 4 different croched blankets that you have had since you were a newborn. You know which blanket is which and want a certain blanket when you nap, a certain blanket when you are in the car and your pink and purple blankie when you sleep at night. It's hysterical to us because you put your fingers and toes between the croched holes and that's how you sleep. And whomever messes with your blankie, WATCH OUT---you are so territorial when it comes to your blankies.
You love baby dolls and are so sweet and tender when you play mommy.

I cannot wait to see how you grow up watch you become "a little lady" as you now say. Happy 2nd Birthday chicken!

Princess Cake

If you asked Brynn what she wanted for her birthday this year, she would tell you "A princess cake, weely, weely bad". I've been thinking about how to decorate a princess cake for weeks now. Last Thursday we had some friends over for a mini birthday party since they were not going to be around to celebrate with us on Saturday (Brynnie's real birthday). I made the cake and I have to tell you my daughter's expression when she saw the final product was priceless. She yelled "IS THAT FOR ME????". Who would have known making something so simple would make the girl smile from ear to ear...

Movie Star

Brynn is at that age where her imagination never, ever ceases to amaze me. I was waiting to see how girly she would be and oh boy is she a little girl! Here's her on Sunday when she dressed up like a movie star.

Emme

Emme is such a smiley baby. She loves food but I think she likes the highchair just because she's at our level of sight when we eat dinner and she can see what's going on.

Kite Festival

This past Saturday and wanted to do something special with the kids. It was really overcast and chilly but a perfect day to fly a kite. We went to Poppie Bud's restaurant for breakfast first where Dylan of course ordered "special eggs". The kids were excited seeing all of the different kites in the sky and went crazy when they saw the bounce houses and kids craft tables. Dylan and Brynn got to roll down the hills and run around. It was a nice morning...
