"Big E"

Our baby has so many nicknames it's hard to keep up. Lately she's been affectionately called "Big E" by daddy. She's such a tom boy already and doesn't like anything girly. She'll lay on her belly and play with Dylan's trains and trucks. She's not interested in dolls at all and heaven forbid we put a dress on her! She has a thick patch of hair on the top of her head so I figured I'd attempt to pony it. She was not impressed and this pic says it all.

Dylan got his stripe!

What a BIG accomplishment for my little boy, he finally got his stripe at karate! Fot those of you who don't know much about the sport, you must obtain a stripe before you can test for any colored belts. The big test for orange belt is coming March 24th. It's very serious being a orange belt and the test is pretty difficult. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!

Snow Day!

So weather peops thanks for freaking us Northerners out suggesting we were in for 12-18" of snow when we got 3-4 inches instead--I was VERY prepared for the "blizzard of 2010" (which apparently did not get past Orange County). I planned a day of fun and (NO stressing for mommy to keep the house clean)

Brynn loves playing with shaving cream lately so I had her at the island in my kitchen playing with shaving cream, Em was rolling a ball around chasing it while Dylan was up in his room making a "Poley Island of Sodor" with his Thomas trains and tracks.

Tuesday night I put together sugar cookie dough to set overnight so we could make Valentines Day cookies. I haven't made homemade cookies since HIGH SCHOOL and have to admit they were quite yummy.

We played I Spy, some Princess fishing game, watched tv, ate lunch together and then headed outside to play for a bit.

Emily LOVED being pulled around in her sled and the faster you ran, the louder she squealed with delight. Brynn and Dylan made snow angels and played on daddy's tractor and we even attempted to toboggan (which doesn't work unless you really have a hill to use it on)

I have to say I enjoyed my day with the kids--it doesn't happen often since we work so much but I was exhausted come bedtime--making plans already for our next "Snow Day"

Brynn the fashonista

Here are a couple pics of Brynn with some unique outfits she put together--I see a future in fashion--(thanks Aunt Din-yell and Cake for your influence--lol)

Dyl-billy

Dylan walked in the living room one night after Christmas and said "I'm a Dyl-billy"-- we were all hysterically laughing and I said "A hillbilly??"--He said "NOOOO a Dyl-billy"---look at the pic, it's priceless--(where do they come up with this stuff???)

Little Gym

We are back to our weekly trip to Little Gym. Brynn never gets any alone time, not by choice-she would rather bring one of her siblings with her every where we go (which is very sweet). Tuesday mornings are now designated "Mommy and Brynn mornings". We drop Dylan and Emme off and then we head to Middletown. After her class we'll do a late breakfast and something special. We just started this past Tuesday and Brynn was all smiles from ear to ear--she really missed going to Little Gym but most of all, she missed swinging like a monkey from the parallel bars and playing with the balls and bubbles at the end of class. Since she's going to be 3 soon, this is the last class we'll do together. She'll be too big for the mommy and me classes and will move on to big girl class :(
FYI--My daughter's hair is out of control---i do brush it and I just looked at the pics that I took and holy cow does she need a pony tail--lol

Monster Jam

What would every mom love to do with her little boy??? Go to a Monster Truck show of course :) My friend scored 8 free tickets to go see Monster Jam at Nassau Coliseum this past Saturday. Dylan could not wait to go see the big trucks and we invited my nephews Ryan and Joey to come along for a real "boys" day. Unless you have attended one of this shows, you cannot imagine how incredibly loud these trucks are! I was unprepared and purchased ear plugs before the show started and broke down and bought ear muffs for my little boys ears because the sound was unimaginable! Dylan enjoyed watching the trucks crush anything they ran over, was in 7th Heaven when we went into the pits before the show even started and got up close to see the trucks and take pics but was even more excited when the motorcross bikes, motorcycles, dirt bikes and 4 wheelers came out and were doing all kinds of neat tricks ( i have to admit it was pretty cool :)

Next weekend is a girls day--WAMU theater to see an Elmo Show--stay tuned for pics!
