Emme is 4 months!

Emily Grace turned 4 months yesterday and it seems like it was yesterday when she arrived. I started feeding her food and I didn't think she was going to be a fan of "real" food but this morning she went crazy eating her cereal. It was pretty comical. Now my goal is to get my sweet baby to roll over (I guess I have to actually put her down to get her to roll over right???)

unseasonably warm

I am a huge fan of warm weather and if I had it my way, it would stay 80 degrees all year long. My kids were extremely happy last night when our neighbors invited us over so they could play in the sprinkler. Brynn said that the water was "too cold ma ma" but Dylan really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the warm weather is coming to an end tomorrow so we are going to get one more day in the sprinkler (hopefully)...

The Thomas Show

What a great show Thomas Live! was. I have to recommend it to everyone, especially little boys who like Thomas the Train. I was impressed with how well behaved the kids in the audience were too. The only bad thing was the price of parking $40 to park for less than two hours...quite pricey but I love Manhattan so I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was a nice day to spend with my son. We don't get much one on one time together these days so it was extra special for both of us.

The girls...

Here are some recent pics of the girls (in matching dresses of course)

The birthday party

Stephen and I talked a couple times about having the kids birthday parties together. At first we didn't think it would be fair to either one of the kids if we did their parties together--well that was BEFORE Emily arrived. Life is so insanely busy these days I couldn't imagine doing two separate birthday parties for the kids, especially since Dylan and Brynn's birthdays are 3 weeks apart. Since both kids pretty much have the same friends I figured we would attempt a joint birthday party this year and see how it goes. I do have to say I think it went quite well. Dylan had his Thomas theme and we had a Disney Princess theme for Brynn. The weather was fantastic thankfully and I think all of the kids had a great time. The bounce house is always a hit and all 55+ kids that were there seemed to have a good time....

The glasses

My little princess now wears glasses. She is handling wearing glasses better than I ever thought she would and looks so adorable! She resembles Stephen even more these days, especially when she has her glasses on.

Regressing

Little Brynnie will do just about anything for attention these days (and I don't blame her one bit). Here's what I caught her doing the other day....

Dylan's 4th birthday

These posts are a little out of order but here are some birthday pics from Dylan's birthday last Tuesday. He got a dirt bike (thanks daddy...) and was shocked when we opened the garage door and there the bike was! He looks like such a big boy riding it around and has some bumps and bruises already from riding...oh the joys of having little boys....

The cake

I finally braved making a birthday cake for my son. We all know how Dylan feels about trains and I wanted to at least attempt to be creative and do something special for my 4 yr old boy. My brother in law and sister in law were over when I made the cake they were so impressed with how good the cake came out (time to pay up Danielle!!!!)

Easter pics

Easter was soooo chilly this year and poor Emme had her first nasty cold. The kids woke up and were so happy that they had eggs to hunt for and goodies in their Easter Baskets. After breakfast I got the kids dressed and took Dylan and Brynn to church with me. We had a great afternoon and then the Poley family had one of our typical holiday dinners---lots of laughs. We had another easter egg hunt but this one was outside so the kids had to all get bundled up. Maybe next year we'll go someplace warm for the holiday...BRRRR!

Easter baskets

I haven't posted in a while. Sorry...anyway here are pics of the kids Easter baskets. I love putting them together every year and love that the kids have Easter baskets with their names embroidered right on them.

Happy 4th BirthdayDylan Patrick

My sweet baby boy Dylan is quickly growing up and becoming such a little man. It's hard to believe that 4 years and 8 months ago we were pleasantly surprised with the news that I was expecting and 4 years ago today he came into our lives at 8:02 a.m, weighing 9 lbs 1 oz. He has filled my heart with so much joy.

Being the first child is always a challenge because you are expected to set an example and all of sibilings will be compared to you. Dylan since the day he was born has been such a happy boy. He's incredibly bright and makes me smile every day I look into his big blue eyes. He is always asking questions and into something to try to figure out how and why it works.

I have never met a child that adores trains like him. He can carry on an adult conversation with just about anyone, all you have to do is say "hey do you like trains?". He sat with his great grandfather on Sunday morning and they had a 20 minute long conversation about where all of the train stations were located in Sullivan County in the early 1900's.

Dylan is such a sweet boy that will do just about anything for his little sisters. He may act like a tough guy, but be mean to any of his sisters and watch out! He loves laying in mommy and daddy's bed in the morning and snuggling with the girls so they can watch cartoons before they get dressed to go and, on occassion, you will see Dylan and Brynnie up in her room and they will play with her dollhouse or they will play with her kitchen and it is the sweetest thing.

I can always count on Dylan to be my mushy child. He'll say to me on occassion "hey mom let's lay on the couch and snuggle bug". He is always hugging and kissing me and telling me how much HE loves me. I cannot say enough about my only boy. We love him to pieces and hope he has a very special birthday. I just hope time slows down so we can enjoy you at this age.
