Popcorn

Brynn does EVERYTHING Dylan does. She is forever doing mischeivious things and has reached the point where she has sit in time out twice already. Last night I was straightening up the kitchen when I heard giggling from the living room. This is what I found....

Dylan blamed Brynnie for opening the popcorn and when Brynnie was questioned she said "Dee Dee"---they are stinkers I tell ya... Not to mention they are sitting on my coffee table. Definite no no

Snow

Who'd believe that we'd get 3 + inches of snow BEFORE HALLOWEEN!!! Dylan was thrilled driving home last night watching the neighborhood kids on their sleds and making snowmen. As soon as we pulled in the garage he fished out his shovel, gloves and snowpants and was ready to go outside and shovel like daddy does. The kid had the best time. Unfortunately I didn't have snowboots for Brynnie or snowpants so she had to watch her big brother from inside. Dylan had an absolute ball!

Watercolors

I wasn't feeling so hot Monday night and Dylan was incredibly bored. I found two sets of watercolors in one of my kitchen cabinets that could not have appeared at a better time. Dylan loves doing anything artsy these days and Brynn will follow anything her big brother does. I gave it a shot and they both had a fantastic time drawing pictures. Brynn still thinks you dump the cup of water on the paper to make colors appear but she had fun doing it so that's all that matters.

28 weeks pregnant

We are VERY happy that I am in my 3rd trimester. Dylan took a pic yesterday for the new baby's album...

Pumpkin Picking

I feel like a horrible parent for not taking my kids pumpkin picking this year, something we do every year. Yesterday morning was beautiful so I figured I could get away with going to a local pumpkin "U Pick" patch basically 10 miles from my house. I pulled into the driveway at the place and quickly changed my mind when I realized I had to carry two pumpkins and walk with two children by myself. I had a great idea to just go to a farm stand where there are clean pumpkins and someone that will deliver the pumpkins to your car when you find the perfect one (and did I mention they are CLEAN at a farm stand....). Dylan immediately asked where the hay ride was and I told him that we missed the hay ride (one little white lie never hurt anyone...). Anyway, both kids got their 20 pound pumpkins so daddy can carve them up Wednesday night after our spooky dinner...

Halloween Party

I have been behaving myself all week long, "resting". The weather was absolutely horrible Saturday that the kids were stuck indoors. I remembered that we had Halloween Parties to go to. Both kids tooK 4 HOUR naps Saturday so I knew we had to do something to run their energy out at 5:00. We put the kids costumes on and headed over to a indoor Halloween Party. It happened to be at one of my doctors' houses so I parked my buttocks down and let the kids enjoy everything that was planned. There was an indoor haunted attic, haunted basement that had tons of little stations set up with Halloween themed games, a pinata, old fashioned dunking for apples and tons of fun. Dylan was just excited to be able to wear his Spiderman costume. We put Brynn in her princess dress for the day since it is easier for her to walk in. We left the party around 10:00 p.m and the kids were pooped out. It was a ton of fun (and daddy even had a FABULOUS TIME!). Here's a pic of Dylan "bobbing" for apples. He refused to stick his face in the water so when he thought no one was watching, he grabbed an apple out of the barrel....it was hilarious---look at his "deer in the headlight" face when I caught him cheating.

Panda's Parlor

Last weekend our favorite ice cream place closed for the winter. I cannot begin to tell you how bummed I am about this---it's pretty much the only place up here to get ice cream and what pregnant woman DOESN'T want ice cream. When I was sitting there with the kids, I watched them enjoy their frozen treat and I realized how quickly they are growing up. They are both so independent--mommy couldn't help feed them they both had to feed themselves.

Pumpkin Party

I love the Pumpkin Party. The library does such a wonderful job putting this together every year. It's hard to believe that this is the 23rd anniversary of the Great Pumpkin Party. The weather was fantastic that day and Dylan and Brynn got to wear their costumes. Brynn was a flower and Dylan of course chose Spiderman. The parade in my opinion was the best this year! There were so many floats and they were all so different. It was nice watching this year since last year we were on a float and didn't get a chance to see all of the other creations that people in our community put together. Here are some pics of the kids in their costumes and enjoying all of the festivities the Pumpkin Party had to offer!

Ring around the Rosie

Dylan is like a little sponge these days. Every day he comes home from school he has a new song he attempts to teach his little sister. I was in the kitchen the other day and I heard Brynn mumble something that sounded like "ring Rosie". I assumed she was talking about Rosie, one of Thomas the Train engines, but Dylan knew what she wanted to do, play Ring Around the Rosie. It was adorable--I managed to get a couple of pics but once the princess saw the camera, the game was over. She's wasn't in the mood...

Brynn's First Haircut

Brynn's hair is out of control. She has so much of it and gives us a hard time about keeping any ponytail holders or clips in. The poor little girl couldn't see since her bangs were constantly in her eyes. I hated having to do it, but I scheduled an appt for my hairdresser to cut her bangs. She was the cutest little thing. She got right into the chair, loved the little smock they put on her and had a smile the entire time Sierra cut her hair. She only had a tiny chunk of hair cut off but what a difference it makes---you can now see her beautiful blue eyes!

Pig tails!

I wanted to jump up and down this morning when I had this epiphany "hey maybe I can pig tail Brynn's hair"---AND IT WORKED!!!! She was a little uncooperative at first (since she likes her hair looking like a mop) but looked so incredibly cute after her hair was done. I love dressing her up. Don't mind her face...Dylan took her train away and she was whining "Dee Dee! NO!"
